"The most fulfilling part of being an architect is to learn that your projects have made an impact on the people who live, work, and play in those projects you collaborated on, and that these projects further enhance the environmental quality and the design quality of all of our lives."
"I come from a place where there is a scarcity of resources. Inherently, I like to use things that are not commonly seen as materials, but try to look at them in a way that is new."
"There are still some architects that think of sustainability as an ‘add on,’ as opposed to something that’s integral. I really appreciate the fact that Quinn Evans believes it’s the other way around: good design is sustainable design."
Sustainable design extends further than embracing the latest green technologies and environmentally friendly initiatives. It has the power to transform lives by drastically improving comfort, reducing utility costs, and strengthening communities.
Having an appetite for enrichment and community involvement outside of work builds more diverse perspectives and even helps advance careers.
A diversity of experiences and perspectives is foundational to Quinn Evans. Having people with backgrounds that aren’t strictly architecture-based expands the way that we approach projects.
At Quinn Evans, we know learning ignites passion and unleashes potential. The Michigan Central Station project grants ample opportunity for growth and a deeper dive into the history of architecture.
As part of our approach to restoration, we strive to take the future into account and make sure that our work is inclusive of both community and environmental needs. For the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, the environmental factors were incredibly important to consider.
In communities across the country, parks serve as places of recreation, relaxation, exploration, and gathering for people of all ages. Each July, we celebrate National Parks and Recreation Month and show our appreciation for our parks, both big and small.
As a woman-led company, we place a special emphasis on the projects that we’ve worked on that engage communities and clients to lift the stories of women and their histories.
“I stay inspired by sketching, traveling, and continuously connecting to potential mentors within my field.”
"I noticed being out in a natural environment and the influence of daylight or a setting sun gives you context and a sense of the bigger picture."
“Baltimore has always been a home base for me and I wanted to be part of a team that’s committed to improving the built environment in and around Baltimore.”

“As a landscape architect, we design spaces within the landscape beyond just buildings or structures. My job is really focused on historic and cultural landscapes that are associated with not only historical events, but living cultural groups.”
“As architects, we are responsible to facilitate our clients, communities, and building industry partners' approach to architecture as a profound act of optimism. Through the act of conceiving—and constructing—the built environment sustainably and responsibly, we restore our commitment to our communities and to the world.”
On Architecture: “It’s a responsibility, both to people/building users in the immediate sense to provide functional, comfortable, and equitable spaces and as an imperative/responsibility to the future to build responsibly and protect our planet.”
“I think it is nice that my interests are still growing. [Quinn Evans] introduced me to all the accreditations I could get, different avenues I could take, and gave me access to those projects. We will see where I am 3 years from now!”
